Traffic on Trakia Motorway is blocked at km 283
Traffic on the Trakia Motorway at km 283 has been suspended in both directions due to heavy smoke caused by a fire in roadside bushes. The information was confirmed by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Yambol and the Road Infrastructure Agency.
Vehicles are being diverted through the Hadzhidimitrovo and Zimnitsa junctions.
According to preliminary police data, the incident occurred around 14:20. It is believed that the fire started following the self-ignition of a blown tire on a semi-trailer of a truck.
Safety measures:
- Teams from the Regional Fire Safety and Civil Protection Department in Yambol are working on-site.
- Traffic is being regulated on-site by Traffic Police officers.
- Initially, passage was restricted, but subsequently, a complete stop was necessary due to zero visibility.
Drivers are urged to follow the instructions of police teams and to proceed with caution through the alternative routes.
