New traffic rules in Sozopol
Sozopol Municipality is taking decisive measures to curb chaos on the streets during the busy summer season. By order of the local authorities, strict bans are being introduced on the movement of electric scooters and off-road vehicles in certain areas of the city.
"The goal of the measures is to prevent risky situations and guarantee the peace of the residents and guests of the city," emphasize the Municipality's press center.
Main restrictions:
- "Republikanska" St.: A complete ban on the movement of electric scooters due to the extremely high pedestrian flow.
- Old Town: Entry of ATVs and UTVs (all-terrain off-road vehicles) is prohibited following numerous reports of noise and disruption of public order.
The competent authorities will monitor compliance with the new rules, and violators will be subject to serious sanctions in accordance with the Road Traffic Act.
Increased control in other seaside resorts as well
Similar measures are being implemented in the rest of the Black Sea coast. In Sunny Beach, law enforcement agencies are already conducting intensified operations, during which dozens of citations and fines have been issued for illegal movement in pedestrian zones in just a short period.
