Sozopol Municipality is launching a pilot campaign aimed at improving separate waste collection in the Black Sea Basin. The initiative provides for the free provision of bins to households. The campaign is part of a larger project aimed at improving waste management practices in the region.

The initiative makes a direct appeal to residents to participate in efforts to protect the environment. "Do you want to be part of the pilot campaign for separate collection and delivery of waste?" - the organizers ask. The emphasis falls on the involvement of citizens, as they are encouraged to consider their responsibility to the future.

The campaign is being implemented within the framework of a project covering certain settlements. Residents of the town of Chernomorets, the town of Sozopol and the village of Ravadinovo have the opportunity to participate. Before the start of the campaign, training sessions were held for the different target groups. The trainings took place during the period from October to November 2025, and were led by external experts on a program developed by the project partners.

The goals of the campaign are clearly defined. The first is to provide the necessary equipment near the places where the largest amount of waste is generated in everyday life. The second, no less important, is to create conditions for effective separate collection and disposal of waste. The campaign is aimed at different target groups, including children, students and households.

To be eligible to participate, applicants must meet certain criteria. It is important to emphasize that the eligibility of applicants will be checked through the GRAO system of the MRRB. A discrepancy in the declared addresses in the application form will lead to removal. In case of great interest and exceeding the available resources, the principle of following the order of submission of applications will be applied.

Interested citizens can submit their applications using an online form available at the specified address. The deadline for applications is November 21, 2025.

All approved applicants will receive confirmation and an invitation to receive the equipment by email. Upon receipt of the equipment, it will be necessary to sign a contract, a declaration of commitment and a handover protocol.

For additional information, interested parties can contact the organizers at the specified email addresses. The subject of the message should be "Campaign for households under project BSB00027 Go2Recycling".

The campaign is carried out within the framework of project BSB00027 (Go2Recycling) "Transnational cooperation for sustainable waste management and recycling practices in the Black Sea Basin". The project is funded by the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027 program and aims to build capacity and stimulate a change in the behavior of local communities regarding separate waste collection practices.
