Modernization of the Sozopol Fishing Port: A New Vision for Safety and Technology
Sozopol Municipality is taking decisive steps toward transforming its fishing boat harbor into a modern, high-tech port. The project, funded by a grant under contract No. BG14MFPR001-1.004-0011-C01, has a total value of 511,267.25 EUR.
The investment focuses on sustainable development and the implementation of European standards in the fishing sector.
What does the project include?
- New pontoon system: Installation of modern facilities designed to withstand the specific wave regimes in the area, ensuring greater safety during mooring.
- Environmental solutions: Construction of zones for separate collection of hazardous waste and innovative systems for processing biodegradable waste.
- Smart technologies: Implementation of an intelligent real-time monitoring system for port activities.
- Sustainable urban environment: Installation of a solar smart bench, combining convenience and energy efficiency.
This project not only improves conditions for fishermen but also contributes to the economic development of the region. The implementation period for the activities is 24 months, during which the port area will be transformed into a modern center that meets the needs of contemporary fishing.
