The inspections of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR) of electricity providers in connection with the high January bills of household consumers show that energy consumption has increased by over 30% compared to December.

More than 400 complaints were received last week by the commission, which are to be considered.

Since the beginning of the year, electricity consumption in our country has increased by almost 10%, according to data from the Electricity System Operator (ESO). At the same time, electricity production is decreasing by over 2%, which also affects the import-export balance.

The balance is negative, as for the first month of last year the country imported more electricity than it exported, and now it's the opposite - we import more than we export.

Electricity production from base power plants has decreased by over 12%, and by 9% from renewable sources connected to the distribution network. However, electricity production from hydroelectric power plants has increased more than twice and by over 13% from large green sources.
