Bulgaria has an active role in the concept of strengthening national and regional energy security and connectivity in Southeast Europe.

In this regard, the Council of Ministers decided that the Minister of Energy should sign a Joint Declaration on enhancing the security of natural gas supplies. The Joint Declaration is expected to be signed on February 24, 2026, in Washington, USA.
