Kyokushin Spirit Burgas with impressive performance at the National Kyokushin Championship

The young karatekas from Kyokushin Spirit Burgas won 19 medals at the National Kyokushin Championship. The tournament, organized in Burgas, brought together 143 competitors from all over the country. The event also marked the upcoming 50th anniversary of Kyokushin Karate.

4 gold, 8 silver, and 7 bronze medals were won by the young karatekas from SKK “Kyokushin Spirit” Burgas at the 20th National Kyokushin Championship for children aged 4 to 15 years, which has ended. The competition was held in the “Nikola Stanchev” hall, and its organizers are SKK “Kyokushin Spirit” and Burgas Municipality.

143 karatekas, members of BKA – IKO Bulgaria, from the cities of Burgas, Varna, Razgrad, Provadia, Yambol, Plovdiv, Aksakovo, Aytos took part in the competition. 

35 competitors took part from the host club. David Kushnirenko received the special prize “Youngest competitor”.

2026 is a special year for everyone for whom karate kyokushin is not just a martial art, but a way of life, because it marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the martial art.

On behalf of SKK “Kyokushin Spirit”, shihan Gergana Apostolova-Kostova expressed her gratitude for the assistance provided by Burgas Municipality over the years, as well as for the desire and effort of the Burgas karatekas and friends of martial arts to develop and promote this sport, organizing a championship of this rank every year and turning this event into a tradition for the city.
