Bulgarian international success in Tashkent
Four Bulgarian students achieved exceptional success at the 58th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The national talents won one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in competition with 320 participants from 84 countries.
Who are the medalists?
- Damyan Ivanov (11th grade, SMG) – gold medal
- Stoyan Milev (11th grade, SMG) – silver medal
- Denislav Stoyanov (12th grade, Geo Milev High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Stara Zagora) – bronze medal
- Borislav Hristov (12th grade, Acad. S.P. Korolev High School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Blagoevgrad) – bronze medal
"Your successes are proof that talent, hard work, and perseverance can turn dreams into real achievements," noted the organizers when sending off the teams.
The team leaders are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Donka Tasheva and Svetoslav Anachkov from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". The success is further proof of the high level of natural science preparation in Bulgaria.
