Scandalous decision by the Budget Committee

The Committee on Budget and Finance voted on an amendment to the extension law, which raises the ceiling on new state debt by 3.8 billion euros. The decision was made without any calculations presented by the Ministry of Finance, which sparked sharp reactions.

These are 1.7 billion euros that were voted on without there being absolutely any need, in the words of the ministry itself.

The position of Asen Vassilev

Former Finance Minister Asen Vassilev stated that "We Continue the Change" will not support such an amendment. According to him:

According to Vassilev, voting for nearly 4 billion euros in new debt without justification is a dangerous precedent that will burden all taxpayers without a clear economic reason.
