In the past week, 89 complaints related to the introduction of the euro have been received by the Consumer Protection Commission (CPC) in Varna. This was announced by the press office of the Regional Administration, citing data from the Regional Coordination Center.
The complaints filed with the CPC are 34 fewer compared to the previous week. Complaints about unjustified price increases predominate. 22 complaints have been determined to be unfounded.
Data from the Territorial Directorate of the National Revenue Agency (NRA) in Varna, which covers the regions of Shumen, Targovishte, Silistra, Dobrich, Ruse, and Razgrad, show that 65 complaints were filed during the week, and their number reaches 545 since the beginning of the year. Inspectors have completed 1,049 inspections since January 1st. There are 125 acts drawn up, 22 of which were imposed during the last week. The amount of the fines imposed in all regions for the last five working days is 12,000 euros. Since the beginning of the year, the sanctions are 56,999 euros.
During the week, the Varna Directorate of the Ministry of Interior did not receive any complaints related to the introduction of the euro. The same is valid for the Food Safety Directorate, the Customs, and the municipal administrations in the region.
