Slowing of inflation in Bulgaria in July
Annual inflation in the country, measured by the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), marked a decline to 4.4 percent in July, according to revised Eurostat data.
Although the rate of price growth is weakening compared to 5.2% in June, Bulgaria remains in third place for inflation in the EU, sharing the position with Cyprus.
Where are we on the map of Europe?
- Inflation leaders: Romania (8.2%) and Lithuania (5.4%).
- Lowest values: Sweden (0.3%), Czech Republic (1.3%), Denmark and Hungary (1.6%).
On a monthly basis, Bulgaria reports a price increase of 0.6%, which places us among the countries with the most significant increase for the month, along with the Netherlands and Denmark.
The situation in the Eurozone and the EU
At the Eurozone level, annual inflation rose slightly to 2.9%, and for the entire EU, it reached 3 percent. The main drivers of this growth remain the services and energy sectors, which have the largest contribution to the consumer price index.
