New energy prices from July 1

EWRC has finalized its decision on electricity and heating prices for the period until June 2027. Despite the initially high requests from energy companies, the regulator approved significantly more moderate increases.

Electricity prices rise by an average of 3%

For end household consumers, an average increase of 2.99% is expected. The specific changes for the main suppliers are:

"Bulgargaz" also announced a 5.84% increase in the price of natural gas for July, reaching 37.70 euros per megawatt-hour.

Central heating and hot water: What is the new reality?

The average increase in heating energy has been set at 4.58%. It is important to note that energy companies requested an average increase of over 30%, but the EWRC rejected these claims. For example, for "Toplofikatsia Sofia," the increase will be 5.50% instead of the 29% requested by the company.

Other heating companies are also moving to higher tariffs, in line with regulatory decisions aimed at protecting consumers from a sharp spike in household utility costs.
