Official inflation data for July 2026
The National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported a decline in annual inflation for the second consecutive month. In July 2026, it reached 4.5% compared to the same month last year, continuing the downward trend following the peak of 6.9% in May.
Monthly inflation for July is 0.8%, and the cumulative inflation since the beginning of the year amounts to 3.7%.

Decrease in prices for major groups of goods
Despite the general trend, some sectors saw a decrease in prices:
- Clothing and footwear: -2.9%
- Insurance and financial services: -1.8%
- Food products and non-alcoholic beverages: -1.0%
- Transport: -0.7%
Small basket index
For the lowest-income 20% of households, a decrease of 1.4% in food prices was observed, while prices for services for this group increased by 2.2%. The small basket index recorded a monthly change of -0.4%.
