Emergency drivers in Burgas are protesting against mass punishment by the police. They claim they receive fines for speeding and running red lights while on emergency calls.

According to staff from Emergency Care Centers in Burgas region, hundreds of tickets and reports have been received in recent months. A meeting with institutions was held at the end of last year to resolve the problem, but according to them, it has not yielded results.

Some drivers say they are at risk of losing their licenses and jobs due to accumulated systemic violations. They claim they were serving patients while carrying out their duties.

"While we are on emergency calls, we need to pass quickly and safely. We cannot lose our jobs for something that is beyond our control." – a driver from Burgas.
