A driver who used drugs caused a traffic accident with a pedestrian in Burgas. The incident happened yesterday, around 7:30 PM, in the residential complex "Bratya Miladinovi".

According to information from the police, the car, driven by a 38-year-old from Burgas, was moving at an inappropriate speed and hit a 50-year-old pedestrian from the village of Cherganovo, Stara Zagora, who was crossing the roadway improperly.

As a result of the impact, the man has a fractured vertebra, with no danger to his life, and has been admitted for treatment at UMBAL - Burgas.

The driver of the car was tested for alcohol and drugs, and the second test was positive for the use of cannabis, amphetamine, and methamphetamine.

Blood was taken for chemical analysis, and the 38-year-old man was detained for up to 24 hours.

A fast-track investigation has been initiated into the case.
