The diplomatic mission of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Japanese capital is preparing a large-scale event dedicated to the national handicraft heritage. On July 11, 2025, a specialized workshop titled "Bulgarian Embroidery" will be held in the cultural space of the embassy.

The initiative is conceived as a comprehensive experience that combines theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The organizers have prepared a detailed lecture that will introduce participants to the deep meaning and historical value of Bulgarian embroidery.

The event is open to a wide range of interested parties - from permanent Bulgarian residents in Japan to local enthusiasts who show a sustained interest in Eastern European cultural tradition. A special emphasis is placed on students who will have the opportunity to learn authentic craftsmanship techniques.

The practical part of the workshop will allow each participant to personally experiment with traditional embroidery stitches. Experts will demonstrate classical and regional variations of embroidery, while simultaneously supporting individual creative expression.

The embassy sets an ambitious goal of popularizing Bulgarian cultural identity among the Japanese community. Through such interactive formats, the diplomatic mission aims to build a deeper understanding and appreciation of the richness of our national crafts.

The event is free and does not require prior registration, which further facilitates access for those wishing to learn more about authentic Bulgarian handicrafts.
