Champions of the Tatami: Large-Scale Kyokushin Karate Championship in Varna

The Fourth State Championship "Bozhilov Cup" occupied the "Vladislav Varnenchik" hall, bringing together 160 karate practitioners from across the country in an epic competition, organized by the Bulgarian Karate Association.

The prestigious sporting event, held on June 28, attracted the attention of leading experts and official guests from the sports world. The organizer of the large-scale event was BKA - IKO Bulgaria under the leadership of world champion shihan Emil Kostov.

Among the special guests were the founders of Kyokushin Karate in Bulgaria - senpai Yancho Nestorov and sensei Ivan Shishinyov. The official ceremony was also honored by local authorities, including Yuldjan Ahmed - Director of Sports Department - Varna, Kristian Dimitrov from the Sports Directorate, and Deputy Mayor Iliya Koev.

In the ceremonial part, shihan Emil Kostov presented official belts and certificates from Japan to distinguished members of the Association. Among those honored were Stratimir Stratiev, Ivan Pavlovski, and Dobromir Yanev, who earned high degrees.

Shihan Apostolova-Kostova's club impressively presented 27 competitors who won numerous prize places. The youngest participant David Kushnirenko received a special award, and Simona Stoycheva was distinguished with the "Will to Win" prize.

Among the absolute winners, the names of David Kushirenko, Anna Brovarskaya, Ilya Kushirenko, Danaya Lana, and Alexander Ivanov stand out, who triumphed in various age categories.

The culmination of the championship was the presentation of the main "Bozhilov Cup" to Stratimir Stratiev from SKK "Kyokushin Spirit" Burgas, determined as the best performing competitor.
