Chess Tournament in Burgas: School Games 2025/2026

A regional chess championship in Burgas brought together 22 teams from 13 schools. Students from 1st to 12th grade competed within the framework of the School Games. The competition also included the youngest participants.

Twenty-two teams, representing thirteen schools from the Burgas municipality, took part in the regional chess championship. The competitors were divided into different age groups, included within the framework of the School Games for the 2025/2026 school year. The organizers had divided the participants into categories for students from 1st to 4th grade, from 5th to 7th grade, from 8th to 10th grade, and from 11th to 12th grade. The competition took place on October 17th in the "Neftohimik" sports hall.

This year, for the first time, the youngest students from Burgas, children from 1st to 4th grade, also participated in the competition. The atmosphere in the hall was tense, but at the same time filled with enthusiasm, while the chess players engaged in a battle on the boards. The teams played against each other to determine the final ranking, demonstrating skills and strategic thinking.

The championship proceeded with excellent organization, led by referees from the Burgas chess refereeing board. Evidently, the professionalism of the referees ensured fair play for all participants.
