A large-scale investment initiative transformed the tourism potential of Northwestern Bulgaria through the modernization of cultural and entertainment sites. The Bulgaria-Serbia program invested nearly 4.7 million leva in renovating attractions in the municipalities of Montana, Chiprovtsi, Belogradchik, Varshets, and Pravets.
A key focus of the project is the comprehensive restoration of the early Christian basilica "Castra ad Montenezium", combined with the exposition of medieval temples and fortresses. Special attention was paid to multimedia museum exhibitions that showcase authentic crafts, including the traditional production of Chiprovtsi carpets.
Among the most attractive innovations is the construction of an interactive rope park with over 45 different elements, which expands opportunities for active and family tourism. The strategic goal of the project is to attract domestic and international tourist flows to less-known but culturally rich territories.
