The "Time to Move 2026" campaign, which runs across Europe this year, has ended in Burgas. At seven meetings in schools and universities, hundreds of young people learned about EU mobility programmes, said the Chance for Children and Nature of Bulgaria Foundation, which ran the campaign in the city.
The foundation is a member of the Eurodesk network. In October, its team visited schools and colleges, including the Trade High School, the G. S. Rakovski language school and Prof. Dr Asen Zlatarov University in Burgas.
The young people learned how they can travel, study, volunteer and take part in youth exchanges to gain international experience. The campaign motto was "Europe asks: Burgas, will you answer?" It focused on the interests, dreams and plans of the young people themselves.
Organisers chose conversation over the usual brochures. Each participant filled in a short digital survey that showed which European opportunities suit them. They then got access to an online pack with useful links and practical tips.
The "Before I turn 30, I want to…" initiative drew particular interest. Young people wrote their wishes and goals on special cards and dropped them in a postbox. Organisers say this turned the talk about the programmes into a personal look at the future and a first step towards their dreams.
The foundation says young people asked many questions about their real chances of joining one of the programmes.
The campaign ended with a raffle, in which 10 participants won gifts. The foundation's information materials remain freely available on its website.
