A school in Burgas is asking current and former pupils, and former teachers, to send a photo and a short personal memory as it marks 65 years. Principal Svetlana Kostadinova told Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) about the appeal.
The project is called "65 faces. One story. Thousands of dreams." The stories it gets may go into an anniversary book and a celebration film, and into the launch of the project, which is part of the anniversary events in 2027.
The principal said what kind of stories the school wants: "We are looking not just for portraits, but for stories - about the first day at school, about a teacher, about friendship, about a hardship overcome, about a talent discovered and about dreams."
Older former pupils still come to the school to have their photo taken and to mark the anniversary of their graduating class. Kostadinova invited them to take part too: "Many of them are well-known people. I would be glad if they also contributed to our anniversary collection."
A big gala concert will take place on 13 January in the hall of the NHK culture centre in Burgas. Actress Gergana Stoyanova will host it.
