Court hearing in Pomorie: Will the manager of the Aheloy base remain in custody?
Today, the District Court in Pomorie will decide whether to keep 55-year-old Ivan Sivov, manager of the water sports base on the beach in Aheloy, in permanent custody. The prosecution has charged him with causing bodily harm due to professional negligence.
The incident left a 17-year-old tourist from Israel with severe injuries after the inflatable attraction crashed into a pier during a risky maneuver.
The violations that came to light:
- Lack of license: The water base was operating without the necessary permit from the Maritime Administration.
- Lack of qualification: The accused himself did not possess the required jet ski operator license for attraction activities.
- Poor judgment: According to witness testimony, Sivov made a sharp turn without considering the trajectory of the towed equipment.
The investigation continues to clarify all circumstances surrounding the fatal error that turned the young man's summer vacation into a nightmare.
