Ryanair is introducing a change to its baggage registration rules, reports The Independent. From November 10th, passengers who want to check in luggage will need to arrive at the airport earlier.

The largest low-cost airline in Europe announces that check-in and baggage drop-off services will end 1 hour before the scheduled departure time, instead of the current 40 minutes. The aim is to give passengers more time to go through security checks and passport control.

The change comes after the introduction of the EU entry/exit system, which has led to delays and missed flights from other airlines. Ryanair notes that only 20% of passengers check in baggage.

Ryanair's Chief Marketing Officer Dara Brady said that the change will give passengers more time to get to the boarding gate, especially during busy periods.
