A Russian attack drone hit a five-storey apartment block in the Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia overnight into Sunday, 25 October. Nataliia Zabolotna, head of the Vinnytsia regional military administration, said six people were injured and one of them is in hospital.
The drone hit between the second and third floors. It destroyed four flats completely and damaged cars parked next to the block.
A private care home for elderly people was also hit. Fifteen people were taken out, and a psychologist from the State Emergency Service (DSNS) helped them.
More than 60 rescuers with 14 vehicles are working at the scene. The DSNS said all fires are out and rescuers are still clearing the rubble.
The strike on the block was part of a large overnight attack with 153 Shahed attack drones, 92 of them jet-powered. Zabolotna said the attack destroyed critical and civilian infrastructure in the region and damaged private houses.
"I thank the rescuers, medics and everyone who is helping people and working to clear up after the attack," Zabolotna said.
