The large-scale Russian strategic energy project in Turkey is experiencing an unprecedented collapse. The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is transforming from a geopolitical instrument into a financial burden for the Kremlin, which is bearing serious economic consequences.

The workforce at the site has been catastrophically reduced – from the initial 12,000 people to just 3,000 employees. Even more concerning is the fact that Russian workers have not received wages since May, which further destabilizes the project.

Russia's previous strategy of international influence through large-scale infrastructure projects is collapsing. The war against Ukraine, international sanctions, and economic instability are undermining Moscow's ability to implement global initiatives.

Media sources report that Russia is actively seeking a potential buyer for its share in the power plant. The once prestigious project, which was meant to demonstrate geopolitical might, is now turning into an economic burden.

The information has been confirmed by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, which adds additional weight to the revelations.
