A nighttime drone strike in the northeastern Ukrainian region of Sumy claimed the lives of an entire family, including a married couple and their two young children, local authorities reported.

Regional head Oleh Khryhorov stated that a residential building in the village of Chernechchyna was hit. The bodies of the two children, aged four and six, as well as their parents, were later extracted from the rubble. An oppressive silence reigned at the scene, broken only by the work of the rescue teams. The heartbroken faces of those present, overcome with grief, could be seen.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced that their units had shot down 46 of a total of 65 Russian drones that had flown over the country. Nevertheless, 19 direct hits were registered in six different locations.

The Russian army has not commented to this point. However, a statement indicated that 81 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in five Russian regions during the night. There is no information about casualties.
