For the second day, Ruse is under the bombardment of heavy rain, which has caused chaos in the city. The streets have turned into rivers, traffic is paralyzed, and huge puddles have formed in key locations, as reported from the scene.

The situation in Ruse is critical. In the last 24 hours, over 114 liters of rain per square meter have poured over the city, which is twice the average monthly norm. Obviously, the city's infrastructure is not prepared for such extreme weather.

From the early hours of today, nearly 20 reports of problematic areas have been registered. One of them is about a fallen tree on a car. Fortunately, the incident only resulted in material damage. At the moment, municipal teams are on the ground and working on draining and clearing the affected areas.

The situation is most difficult in the Free Zone area. It is there that, with every heavy rain, the low location of the area and the deficiencies of the drainage system lead to floods. Today, due to the increased water level, a young man was blocked on the roof of a minibus.

The signal was received in a timely manner, and a team of firefighters was sent to the scene, who rescued him. Fortunately, so far there have been no injuries or flooded buildings. The situation outside the city remains calm, as there have been no reports of problems related to the bad weather.

Meanwhile, north of the border, in Romania, in Bucharest, Giurgiu and Calarasi, a state of emergency has been declared. Local authorities have taken preventive measures, such as closing kindergartens and schools due to the heavy rainfall.
