End of the political crisis and new legitimacy
Prime ministerial candidate Rumen Radev thanked the Bulgarian citizens for the high voter turnout, which put an end to the prolonged political crisis. According to him, the National Assembly now possesses the necessary legitimacy to work effectively.
Bulgarian citizens expect this constructive spirit to be maintained in the future; they expect the parliament to produce laws and decisions, not scandals.
Main challenges facing the cabinet
Radev emphasized that the government is aware of the severe trials the country is facing:
- Galloping inflation and prices;
- Missing reforms in key sectors;
- Global energy crisis;
- Escalating international conflicts.
Legislative priority and cooperation
Although the majority allows for the independent adoption of bills, Radev expressed a readiness to interact with the opposition. As early as Monday, the submission of proposals is expected regarding:
- Measures against rising prices;
- Amendments to the Judiciary Act.
