The leader of the political formation "Progressive Bulgaria" (PB), Rumen Radev, made a series of important statements immediately after entering parliament. The party's main focus will be directed towards stabilizing state finances, which, according to him, are in a "catastrophic state".
Challenges facing the new government
Radev emphasized that it is critically important for the government to have its composition and structure in place even before May 15, in order to begin working on the accumulated reforms. In addition to financial stability, one of PB's leading priorities will be the change in the Supreme Judicial Council.
"It will be extremely difficult to dismantle the oligarchic model because it has seeped into all organs of the state and into the justice system. This will be an ongoing process," Radev emphasized.Political cadres and future roles
In his official statement, the leader of PB did not rule out the possibility of himself taking the position of Prime Minister, adding that the decision on the leader of the government will be made by the party. He also shared that there is a high probability that Petar Vitanov will be the chairman of the parliamentary group.
- PB's largest commitment.
- Replacement of the Supreme Judicial Council and the fight against the oligarchy.
- Refuting rumors about the merger of the ministries of culture and tourism.
Political stability and opposition
Radev stated that there will be no "100 days of tolerance" towards the political parties that have suffered heavy losses, as Bulgarian citizens are extremely impatient. He also commented on the decision of "We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" to register two parliamentary groups, describing the situation as disappointing for the political process.
