A specialized "Black Hawk" helicopter from Romania has undertaken an emergency rescue mission in the territory of Bulgaria, confirmed official sources from the National Emergency Department in Bucharest.
The air unit started the operation in the morning from the central air force base, representing its first international participation in such a large-scale fire scenario. Spokesperson Bogdan Toma emphasized that the intervention is a direct result of the activated European Civil Protection Mechanism procedure.
According to media investigations, the mission is planned to continue for at least two days, with the goal of controlling the critical situation. In the last 24 hours, Bulgaria has experienced an unprecedented wave of fire incidents that caused serious material damage, including complete destruction of dozens of residential properties in various settlements.
