The new explosion mechanic in CS2
Valve has introduced one of the most significant gameplay changes in Counter-Strike 2 since the game's release. With the fifth season, the way the bomb functions has been completely transformed.
The shockwave now spreads across the map and weakens behind corners, allowing players to survive if they have found the right cover.
How to survive an explosion?
- Visual indicators: The health bar begins to flash and shows the expected damage in real time.
- Tactical positioning: It now makes sense to seek out barriers because the shockwave does not pass through walls.
- Saving equipment: Surviving allows you to keep your valuable weapons and gear for the next round.
What else does the new season bring?
In addition to the bomb changes, Valve is adding new weapon and sticker collections inspired by Arabic culture and spy technology. The popular Cache map returns to the active duty pool, replacing Overpass, and the community receives five new maps for various modes.
Furthermore, Gabe Follower revealed that a mechanic for remotely detonating grenades via gunfire is being tested – a feature that promises to revolutionize tactical possibilities in the future.
