Starting March 5th, repairs will begin on the carriageway towards Burgas, 6 km from the “Trakia” Motorway, between the 342nd and 348th km in the Burgas region. Due to the repair works, traffic in one lane will be completely restricted, with vehicles passing in both directions in the lane towards Sofia.
The technical project foresees reconstruction of the road surface and repair of the embankments, with geosynthetic materials being used for reinforcement and a new road construction being built. This section has been in operation since 2006 and has not been repaired until now.
Construction and installation works will be carried out by “Avtomagistrali” EAD under a contract from 2019. The building permit was issued on January 21, 2026, and the estimated completion date is mid-June 2026. The repair is expected to continue in the lane towards Sofia in the autumn.
