Asphalt work has been completed on the Sofia-bound carriageway in the repair section of the "Trakia" motorway in the Pazardzhik region, between the 90th and 98th kilometer. The repair covered an impressive 8 kilometers of the route, where a new asphalt surface was laid, drainage was improved, and new guardrail systems were installed.

Road markings are currently being applied on the Burgas-bound carriageway. Traffic has been diverted in both directions on the renovated carriageway for the capital, where one lane has been allocated for each direction. Specialists expect the marking on the Burgas-bound carriageway to be completed by the end of the current week, after which marking on the Sofia-bound carriageway will begin. Plans provide that, under favorable weather conditions, the marking will be completed on the Sofia-bound carriageway next week, thus restoring traffic on both repaired carriageways in the Pazardzhik region.

Tomorrow, October 22, between 8:00 and 18:00, repair work is scheduled on the Sofia-bound carriageway, in a 100-meter section at the 62nd kilometer of the "Trakia" motorway. During these activities, traffic in the active lane will be restricted, and entry into the emergency lane will be prohibited. Traffic will be carried out in the overtaking lane.

Repair work on the "Trakia" motorway continues in the Burgas-bound carriageway as well, with affected sections in the Sofia, Stara Zagora, and Sliven regions. In the Sofia region, construction work is carried out in a 9-kilometer section, between the 24th and 33rd kilometer. In the Stara Zagora region, repairs are underway in a 10-kilometer section, between the 208th and 218th kilometer, and in the Sliven region – in an 11-kilometer section, between the 262nd and 273rd kilometer. In these sections, traffic is carried out in both directions on the Sofia-bound carriageway, with one lane allocated for Burgas and one for the capital.

The "Road Infrastructure" Agency reminds drivers that the emergency lane is also permitted for use in the repair sections. Despite the inconveniences that construction activities cause to citizens, they are necessary to ensure traffic safety and increase comfort when traveling. The Agency urges drivers to strictly observe road signs and the introduced temporary traffic organization, as well as speed restrictions. It is especially important to avoid risky overtaking, which endangers the safety of all road users.

Travelers to and from Plovdiv have the opportunity to use alternative routes, such as the Sub-Balkan road I-6 Sofia – Karlovo, as well as the Ihtiman – Samokov road.
