A large-scale police operation, conducted by the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, broke up a criminal group specialized in usury activities and violent actions against debtors. The action was carried out on July 3 in the city of Razlog under the direct guidance of the Regional Prosecutor's Office - Blagoevgrad.
During the specialized intervention, eight men were detained, including key organizers of the criminal structure. Out of the total number of detainees, five were officially charged with committing crimes. Police officers applied the procedure under the Ministry of Interior Law, initially detaining the suspects for 24 hours, subsequently extending the period to 72 hours.
During the operation, six personal searches and searches of five residential properties were conducted. Forensic experts seized evidentiary material, including mobile phones, various documents, and significant cash amounts. In parallel, witness interviews were conducted, some of which took place before a judicial panel.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under Articles 321, paragraph 3, 213, and 214 of the Criminal Code, which address organized criminal activity and violent actions. Requests for permanent non-custodial measures against the detained persons are pending.
The investigation of the case continues, with law enforcement working on fully documenting the criminal activity.
