"Economic Police" operation in Burgas
A large-scale police operation against illegal gambling was conducted late last night in the center of the city of Burgas. Officers from the "Economic Police" department of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior raided an illegal casino operating in violation of the law.
Detainees and seized evidence
At the scene of the specialized operation, 11 men of various ages were identified and detained. During the searches carried out on the premises, numerous pieces of incriminating evidence were discovered:
- A specialized poker table;
- Sets of playing cards;
- A large quantity of poker chips of various denominations;
- Over 10,000 euros in cash.
"The organizers of the illegal gambling activity have also been identified. All individuals have been taken into police custody for a period of up to 24 hours," the Ministry of Interior's press center stated.
Ongoing investigation
Pre-trial proceedings have already been initiated in the case. The seized items have been included as material evidence in the investigation, which is continuing under the supervision of the prosecutor's office.
