At this moment, no talks are being held regarding the procedure for electing a new Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Raya Nazaryan from the GERB-UDF parliamentary group told journalists. The comment followed a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs.

Nazaryan emphasized that the procedure requires a qualified majority of 160 votes from members of parliament. According to her, the ruling coalition has only specified the parliamentary groups with which it will not cooperate to secure this majority.

"According to Nazaryan, there is a lack of transparency. She added that GERB is not in a position to make proposals," the report states.
