Receivables on loans of companies specialized in lending amounted to BGN 7.770 billion at the end of December 2025 (3.5% of the forecast GDP), compared to BGN 6.577 billion (3.2% of the forecast GDP) at the end of December 2024, the BNB reports.
They increased by 18.1% (BGN 1.193 billion) compared to the end of the fourth quarter of 2024 and by 3.6% (BGN 271.4 million) compared to the end of September 2025. The BNB notes that the net sales of loans by companies, which for the last twelve months amount to BGN 222.1 million, also affect the receivables on loans. On an annual basis, the loans sold amount to BGN 238.1 million, of which BGN 79.3 million during the fourth quarter of last year, and those purchased are BGN 16 million, including BGN 15.2 million during this period.
In the maturity structure, loans over 5 years prevail, which are BGN 3.650 billion at the end of December 2025. They increased by 18.9% (BGN 580.5 million) on an annual basis and by 2.3% (BGN 80.8 million) compared to the end of September 2025. Their relative share in the total amount of loan receivables increased from 46.7% at the end of December 2024 to 47% at the end of the same month in 2025.
The data show that at the end of the fourth quarter of last year, loan receivables with a maturity of over 1 to 5 years were BGN 1.752 billion. They increased by 22.5% (BGN 322 million) on an annual basis and by 7.9% (BGN 128.3 million) compared to the end of the third quarter of 2025. Loan receivables with a maturity of up to 1 year were BGN 1.833 billion at the end of December 2025, increasing by 15% (BGN 239.3 million) on an annual basis and by 3.1% (BGN 55.3 million) compared to the end of the third quarter of 2025.
At the end of December 2025, the amount of non-performing loans was BGN 536 million, increasing by 10.5% (BGN 51.1 million) on an annual basis and by 1.3% (BGN 7.1 million) compared to the end of September 2025.
Loan receivables from households and NPOOD increased at the end of December 2025 on an annual basis by 17.5% (BGN 791.1 million) to BGN 5.302 billion. Compared to the end of September, they increased by 2.1% (BGN 108 million). Their relative share in the total amount of loan receivables from residents decreased from 70.1% at the end of December 2024 to 69.7% at the end of December last year.
Loan receivables from non-financial enterprises were BGN 2.093 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025. They increased by 22% (BGN 377.5 million) compared to the end of December 2024 and by 6.7% (BGN 131.8 million) compared to the end of September 2025. Their relative share in the total amount of loan receivables from residents increased from 26.7% at the end of December 2024 to 27.5% at the end of the same month in 2025.
In the structure of loan receivables from households and NPOOD, consumer loans prevail, which are BGN 5.181 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025. They increased by 18.5% (BGN 810 million) on an annual basis and by 2.5% (BGN 127 million) compared to the end of September 2025. Their relative share in the total amount of loan receivables from the sector increased from 96.9% at the end of December 2024 to 97.7% at the end of December 2025.
The amount of housing loans at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025 is BGN 19.9 million. They increased by 28.8% (BGN 4.4 million) compared to the end of December 2024 and by 66.9% (BGN 8 million) compared to September 2025. Their relative share in the total amount of receivables from the sector increased from 0.3% at the end of December 2024 to 0.4% at the end of the same month in 2025.
Other loans total BGN 100.7 million at the end of December 2025. They decreased by 18.8% (BGN 23.4 million) on an annual basis and by 21.1% (BGN 27 million) compared to the end of September last year. Their relative share decreased from 2.8% at the end of December 2024 to 1.9% at the end of the same month in 2025.
