Strategic partnership between Bulgaria and France

Prime Minister Rumen Radev held important talks with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, focusing on deepening cooperation in the areas of security, energy, and European policies.

"Bulgaria and France share common positions on the topics of security and the diversification of energy supplies for Europe," Prime Minister Radev emphasized to journalists.

Defense and modernization of the army

France remains a key partner in the modernization of the Bulgarian armed forces. The implementation of contracts is forthcoming for:

Energy and transport infrastructure

Radev highlighted the expansion of cooperation in nuclear energy, including the supply of fresh nuclear fuel for the Kozloduy NPP. Furthermore, the government expects the timely delivery of 12 electric trains from the company "Alstom," which is critically important for the utilization of funds under the Recovery and Resilience Plan.

Dialogue on the Republic of North Macedonia

The Prime Minister once again raised the issue of including Bulgarians in the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia. Bulgaria expects France to continue supporting the implementation of the reached European consensus on this matter.
