Emergency inspection of the Officers' Beach in Varna

The Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water (RIEW) in Varna has launched an urgent inspection following data from the Regional Health Inspectorate (RHI) regarding the deteriorated quality of bathing water at the Officers' Beach.

The eco-inspectorate is taking joint actions with the institutions to identify the source of pollution and ensure the health of citizens.

Which institutions are involved in the control?

The main focus of the inspectors is the inspection of the Shokarov Channel and the ravines that flow into it. Experts will take water samples for analysis, and the results will be announced immediately after their processing.

Measures for the cleanliness of the sea are forthcoming

The Regional Governor of Varna, Mario Smarkov, is planning a working meeting with beach concessionaires and the relevant institutions. The goal is more effective control and the prevention of pollution during the active summer season.
