Relatives, family, and friends gathered for a peaceful protest in front of the police building in the "Sunny Beach" resort, demanding the strictest punishment for the perpetrator of the assault that led to the death of municipal employee Stefan Denev. The incident occurred in the center of "Sunny Beach," and today, a day of mourning has been declared in the municipality of Nessebar in memory of the deceased.

On March 29th of this year, a report was filed about a scandal between two groups in the "Diamant" nightclub. After the intervention of the security, the participants were escorted outside and separated. Some of the men got into a taxi and headed towards Sveti Vlas, while Stefan Denev started walking home. Near a 24-hour shop, he was intercepted by several men. After the assault, Denev died. Zhivko Georgiev from the village of Orizare has been arrested for the crime.

The protesters insisted on a swift and fair investigation, as well as effective sentences for all those involved in the case. They expressed doubts that more than one person participated in the assault.

"We demand a fair trial and effective sentences. We want the truth to come out about the death of our friend. We do not agree with the claim that there was only one perpetrator; there were others. Everyone must bear the consequences," said the protest organizer, Gerginа Babeva.

According to her, the relatives of the deceased do not accept the charges filed and are demanding a more severe legal qualification of the act.

"We want an effective sentence. We do not agree with the charges, which provide for 10 to 20 years in prison. With a lighter sentence, the perpetrator may be released significantly earlier," added Babeva.

The protesters described the case as an unprovoked act of violence and emphasized that Stefan Denev did not show aggressive behavior. They called on the institutions to fully clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to guarantee justice.

A peaceful march started from the Regional Police Department to the place where he was attacked and later died, Stefan Denev. Relatives, family, and friends walked the route to light a candle at the place where Stefan Denev lost his life. There they laid flowers and lit candles in his memory.

Citizens of Nessebar describe Stefan Denev as a good and non-confrontational person, respected by friends and acquaintances. Friends of Stefan Denev claim that he did not participate in the scandal in the disco, but only helped, along with the security guards, the two groups to end the dispute.
