Employees of "Bulgarian Posts", members of the Syndical Federation of Communications to the KNSB, went on strike today.

The main demand is for a 5 percent increase in their basic monthly salaries.

The protesters gathered in front of branch 6 of "Bulgarian Posts".

The chairwoman of the Syndical Federation of Communications, Sabina Lazarova, explained that they want financial resources to increase salaries by at least 5 percent retroactively - from January 1, 2026.

Currently, about 80 percent of the employees receive salaries at the level of the minimum wage.

An 8 percent increase has been agreed from March 1, but this is not enough.

Today's protest is a preliminary action, but the union is ready for subsequent actions.

Steps have been taken towards the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

A serious problem is also the lack of personnel, especially in the post offices.

About 1300 pensioners work in "Bulgarian Posts" due to the low salaries.
