The weather over the country today remains under the influence of unstable atmospheric processes, but forecasters predict a gradual improvement from the west. According to the forecast, reported by BNT, cloud cover will begin to break up, while certain areas will remain windy and cooler.
It is expected that from the west, the clouds will gradually give way to the sun, which will bring relief after the grayer morning hours. However, the strong wind warning remains in effect, especially for residents of the Danubian Plain and the Upper Thracian Plain, where gusts will be most noticeable. In other parts of the country, it will also be windy, but to a lesser extent.
In the afternoon, the sky will be mostly sunny, but the eastern and far southern regions will retain more clouds. Short-lived rainfall and thunderstorms are expected in the mountainous areas of Southern Bulgaria. These phenomena are typical for the summer season and are usually quickly transient. The day's temperatures will vary between 26° and 31° Celsius, with the capital, Sofia, reaching around 26°.
Weather on the Black Sea coast
On the Black Sea coast, the situation remains unchanged. Temperatures along the coast will range between 26° and 29°. Here, cloud cover will be variable, but no rainfall is expected, which is good news for tourists. Despite the lack of rain, the wind will be strong. Before noon, a moderate to strong northwesterly wind will blow, which will change its direction to north-northeast in the afternoon. The sea water will have a pleasant temperature of 25°-26°, and the swell will remain between 2 and 3 Bft, creating moderate waves along the coast.
Forecast for the mountains
In the mountains, the morning will start with clear and sunny weather, ideal for early hikes. However, cloud cover will increase over the Rhodope and Strandzha mountains, with short rainfall and thunderstorms expected in the Rhodopes in the afternoon. The overall feeling in the mountains will be a strong wind, which will be temporarily stormy at high altitudes, coming from the west-northwest.
"According to forecasters, the upcoming weekend will bring a long-awaited improvement. The forecast promises sunny weather with almost zero chance of rain. Temperatures will be significantly more pleasant, in the range of 25° to 30°, and will remain stable until Monday, inclusive. This forecast predicts ideal conditions for rest and outdoor activities."
