The state guarantees the "Hot Lunch" program until the end of 2027
Minister of Labor and Social Policy Natalia Efremova announced during parliamentary control that funding for the popular "Hot Lunch" program will be secured until the end of 2027. This decision aims to provide stability for thousands of people in need.
"Providing a hot lunch is one of the most approved and widely known measures for supporting people," emphasized Minister Efremova.
Who benefits from the program?
Currently, over 67,000 individuals in 224 municipalities receive a hot meal daily. Statistics show that the majority of beneficiaries are:
- 60% elderly people over 65 without relatives and support;
- 20% people with disabilities.
What changes from August?
In addition to extending the duration, the government is taking important steps to improve the quality of the service:
- Increased portion value: From August 1, the rate is increased to 2.10 euros (instead of the previous 1.86 euros).
- Additional funds: Municipal budgets for administrative expenses and accompanying measures are being increased.
- Holistic approach: Users will also receive guidance toward health and social services to address social isolation.
The total budget for the 2021-2027 period reaches 160 million euros, combining European and national funds to ensure that no one in need is left without support.
