Forecast for August 4: Warm weather and a light breeze across the country

Forecasters expect mostly sunny and hot weather on August 4, with pleasant conditions for the beach along the Black Sea coast and in the Burgas region.

Tuesday, August 4, will offer stable summer weather across the country, with predominantly sunny skies and temperatures typical for the height of the season. Conditions for swimming along the Southern Black Sea coast remain favorable, and the breeze will be mostly light to moderate.

Weather in Burgas and the region

In Burgas, a maximum air temperature of around 32–33°C is expected, while the minimum at night will drop to around 21–22°C. The probability of precipitation is close to zero, as the day will be mostly sunny with insignificant cloudiness.

The sea water temperature in the Burgas area will be around 24–25°C, which provides comfortable conditions for swimming. The wind will blow from the east-southeast at a speed of around 5–6 m/s, and may increase slightly to 7 m/s in the afternoon hours.

The preliminary assessment of conditions for safe swimming in the Burgas region is a green flag, which means a calm sea and minimal risk for swimmers.

Sofia and the region

In the capital and the surrounding areas, the day will be warm and mostly sunny, with maximum temperatures around 30–32°C and minimum night values around 17–19°C. The probability of precipitation remains low, below 10%, with no significant rainfall expected. The wind will be light, coming from the west-northwest at a speed of up to 3–4 m/s.

Eastern and Western Bulgaria

In the eastern regions of the country, maximum temperatures will reach 31–33°C, and in the western part – between 30–32°C. In both regions, mostly sunny weather is expected, with no significant probability of precipitation. The wind regime will remain light to moderate, with speeds from 3 to 6 m/s; in the eastern parts, the direction will be predominantly east-northeast, and in the west – northwest.

In the mountains

In the higher mountain regions, temperatures will be significantly lower, with values between 18–22°C expected during the day at an altitude of about 1500–2000 meters. The probability of short-lived afternoon showers is slightly elevated, around 20–30%, especially in the central and western mountain massifs. The wind in the mountains will be moderate, with gusts from 4 to 8 m/s.

The Black Sea coast

Across the entire Black Sea coast, including Varna, Sunny Beach, and Sozopol, the day will be sunny and hot, with air temperatures between 30 and 33°C. The sea water temperature along the coast will vary between 23 and 25°C, which is pleasant for swimming. The wind regime will remain light to moderate, blowing from the east-southeast at a speed between 4 and 7 m/s. The probability of precipitation is minimal, below 5% in most coastal zones.

According to preliminary assessments, conditions for safe swimming along the entire Southern Black Sea coast will be marked with a green flag, while in certain sections of the Northern Black Sea coast, with a stronger breeze in the afternoon, it is possible for a yellow flag to be introduced as a precautionary measure.
