Primorsko with Record Tourist Growth and Cleanest Seawater in Bulgaria
Primorsko has established itself among the fastest-growing and most preferred summer tourist destinations in Bulgaria and Europe. The resort reports a record increase in visitors and the cleanest seawater in the country this year, according to data from the Primorsko Municipality and the European Environment Agency (EEA).
According to 'Travel Off Path', Primorsko is becoming the 'European Copacabana' and setting new standards for summer tourism in the region with excellent service quality. In July 2025 alone, tourists increased by more than 20%, and by the end of the season, growth over 40% is expected compared to the previous year – a result of renovated infrastructure, cultural events like 'Prim Fest' and 'Opera at the Sanctuary', all-inclusive packages, and most importantly, high seawater quality.
The EEA ranks Bulgaria second in the EU for beach water cleanliness – 97.9% of beaches are in excellent category, with Primorsko leading the ranking for the cleanest seawater in the country, which attracts more and more tourists.
Primorsko Municipality Mayor Ivan Gaykov emphasizes that the rapid growth shows successful tourism development, with priorities being preservation of natural resources and improving conditions for family vacations. Cultural initiatives and infrastructure investments will continue to stimulate interest in the resort, and support from the tourism sector remains key.
Primorsko invites all residents and guests to the upcoming 'Prim Fest' events, which will enrich the vacation season. The administration aims to build on the success and generate even greater interest in this unique destination.
