President Iliana Iotova continues consultations for the appointment of a caretaker prime minister. This time, the meetings are scheduled with the APS, MECH, and Velichie parties.
According to the program, the consultations will begin with APS at 10:00 a.m., followed by MECH at 11:30 a.m. and Velichie at 1:00 p.m.
Prior to this, the head of state spoke with DPS, BSP, and ITN. The President expressed hope that the elections will be on the first date after Easter, which is April 19.
At the end of January, Iotova met with potential candidates for caretaker prime minister, indicated in the Constitution. Five of them expressed a willingness to take the post.
According to the Constitution, after the consultations, the President appoints a caretaker government and schedules elections within a two-month period. This happens after the resignation of Rosen Zhelyazkov's government.
