President Radev presents first officer ranks at the Naval Academy in Varna

The head of state will participate in a ceremonial event for 44 graduates from the Naval Academy, presenting shoulder boards and diplomas to the top graduate of the 2025 class.

President Rumen Radev will visit Varna today to participate in the official ceremony of awarding first officer ranks to cadets from the 2025 class at the Naval Academy "N. Y. Vaptsarov". The head of state will be welcomed with an official honor guard at the Maritime Station.

During the ceremony, the flags of the Naval Forces ships will be solemnly raised. As part of the ceremony, diplomas and officer shoulder boards will be presented to a total of 44 graduates, with a special emphasis on presenting awards to the top performer.

Midshipman Nikolay Marianov Tenchev, specializing in "Naval Logistics", is the leading cadet with an impressive average grade of 5.88. In addition to the president, the ceremony will include congratulations from the Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov and the Chief of Defense Admiral Emil Eftimov.

Rumen Radev, in his capacity as Supreme Commander-in-Chief, will deliver a welcoming speech to the young officers, emphasizing the significance of their future mission in defending the country. The ceremony will reinforce the tradition of continuity and professionalism in naval education.
