The government has taken urgent actions to financially support families affected by the devastating fires. At an extraordinary weekly meeting, ministers decided to allocate additional funds to compensate for the damages of destroyed properties.

Minister of Labor and Social Policy Borislav Gutsanov announced that the state will provide 900,000 leva in targeted assistance. The previous financial support of 1,914 leva will be increased by an additional 3,000 leva for each family, reaching a total of nearly 5,000 leva.

According to the details presented by Minister Gutsanov, affected households will be able to apply for an additional 2,500 leva to restore destroyed equipment. The maximum financial support can reach up to 7,500 leva per household under certain conditions.

A key requirement is that the supported dwelling must be the only and legally constructed property. Vacation homes and additional structures are not covered by the compensation program.

The minister emphasized the government's quick response, thanking Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov and his ministerial colleagues for including the emergency item on the agenda. "This is how we should work in critical situations," Gutsanov stated.

Additionally, Prime Minister Zhelyazkov announced that a report will be submitted to parliament tomorrow regarding the readiness of state agencies to purchase specialized firefighting equipment.
