The government has allocated an additional €2,208,374 to the budget of the Ministry of Youth and Sports for youth centers across the country. The funds are earmarked for projects already approved under the Program for Financing Youth Centers in the Republic of Bulgaria for the 2026–2028 period.
With this funding, authorities aim to provide youth centers with lasting support and ensure that young people have equal opportunities for development — regardless of whether they live in a big city or a small village.
The program places particular emphasis on young people from vulnerable groups and smaller towns and villages, while also encouraging their civic participation. It will also support volunteering, various youth initiatives, and social entrepreneurship.
The program targets young people between the ages of 15 and 29. The aim is to give them real opportunities for development, allow them to take part in public life, and enable them to make a meaningful contribution to it.
Officials from the ministry explain that support for youth centers is part of their broader effort to build a unified and sustainable youth policy in Bulgaria.
