Bulgaria has formally started planning how to spend its share of the EU's next budget, for 2028-2034, deputy prime minister Atanas Pekanov said at the Council of Ministers. The rough figure is between €15bn and €20bn.
Pekanov said the amount for Bulgaria is not final, because talks on the size of the whole EU budget are still going on.

Like every EU member, Bulgaria must prepare a single national and regional partnership plan. It will include investments and reforms, similar to the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Pekanov listed faster economic growth, social cohesion, world-class education and accessible healthcare across the country among the main goals. His list also includes infrastructure and energy projects, transport and connectivity.
